“[You] have to influence in every direction, saddled with an undoable workload, often under-resourced, under-appreciated, and over-stressed. Surrounded, but alone.” - Scott Mautz, Leading from the Middle
Do you feel stuck in the middle*? You’re not imagining it. Compared to white women or Asian men, Asian women are only half as likely to rise from middle management to the executive level. Yet as Scott Mautz so aptly captures, middle management is a dreaded position. Studies show middle managers are the most depressed and least engaged staff - even worse than a bad job fit or a poor performance review.
That’s why we have chosen to dedicate our inaugural Virtual Speed Networking Event to Asian Women Middle Managers. I will be hosting this event together with our AWE Network volunteer, Ruth Khan, who will be facilitating the event.
What you'll get out of this event:
Connect and network with a curated group of Asian women in middle management roles.
Discuss the challenges faced by Asian women middle managers and the strategies to address these challenges through a Middle Management Case Study.
1-on-1 conversations with at least 6 other professionals whom you can continue to keep in touch as part of your peer support group after the event.
Facilitated networking activities to make it easier and faster for you to quickly connect with other Asian women.
There are only 20 spots available for this event. Save your spot today so you don't miss out on this great opportunity to get to know other Asian female middle managers who can relate to you and support you. Together, we have a better chance of beating those odds!
